The client is a vertically integrated producer, broadcaster and streaming platform that is the largest independent TV station in the UK.
The first segment of their business involves producing, owning the rights to and distributing high-quality television content on a global scale. They operate in 12 countries, with more than 60 studios, and an extensive global distribution network. Their offerings span a variety of genres, have a presence in multiple regions and reach a variety of clients in key creative markets around the world.
The second business segment is Project, which is the largest commercial broadcaster and streaming platform in the UK, offering exceptional reach and audience scale. Content is distributed through their platform, a free advertiser-funded streaming service and free-to-air linear TV channels.
PROJECT OBJECTIVE:
To build solutions for predicting, scheduling and creating television programming for an overseas client.
MUST HAVE:
Experience with Bayesian optimization
Proficiency with cloud storage libraries (e.g. cloudpathlib, s3fs)
Knowledge of file system specifications (fsspec)
Good understanding of numerical calculations using NumPy
Data manipulation and analysis using Pandas
Experience with distributed computing frameworks such as PySpark
Date and time manipulation using Python Dateutil
Knowledge of machine learning frameworks such as Scikit-Learn and XGBoost
Good knowledge of English (UK client)
Self-motivated, proactive, can-do attitude
NICE TO HAVE:
Proficiency in tracking progress using Tqdm
Logging and monitoring using Watchtower
Data visualization using Plotly, Matplotlib and Seaborn
