Responsibilities:

• Planning and execution of data migration from Firebird to PostgreSQL.
• Conversion and adjustment of SQL queries, procedures, triggers, and other database-related functions to PostgreSQL syntax and functionality.
• Ensuring data consistency and integrity during the migration process.
• Conducting performance tests and optimizing the new PostgreSQL database.
• Supporting the configuration of the PostgreSQL server to ensure optimal performance.
• Creating documentation for the migration process and the new database structure.

Requirements:

• Experience with database migrations: 
  – Several years of experience in migrating relational databases, preferably from Firebird to Post-greSQL.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL:
  – Solid understanding of the PostgreSQL database system, including its architecture, SQL syntax, and optimization techniques. Ideally, solid knowledge of the Firebird database system as well.
• SQL and PL/pgSQL:
  – Excellent skills in SQL and scripting for data migration. 
  – Knowledge of PL/pgSQL (PostgreSQL’s procedural language) is desirable.
• Database administration: 
  – Experience with managing and configuring database servers, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Data integrity and security:
  – Familiarity with techniques to ensure data integrity and minimize data loss during migration.
• Knowledge of backup and restore strategies for databases.
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization of PostgreSQL databases.
• Basic knowledge of network configurations and security settings for database servers
